About Jamil Khan Welfare Organization: Building a Self-Reliant Pakistan through Cash Waqf and Qarz-e-Hasanah

Introduction and Mission About Jamil Khan Welfare Organization

Jamil Khan Welfare Organization (JKWO) is a premier, government-approved non-profit institution in Pakistan, transforming traditional charity into sustainable social development. Our mission is to eradicate hunger, poverty, and unemployment through a unique approach: rather than creating "wage slaves" through temporary aid, we empower individuals with Interest-Free Loans (Qard-e-Hasanah) and productive capital to earn a dignified, self-reliant livelihood.

Our Unique Economic Model: Cash Waqf

At the heart of our operations is the revolutionary concept of Cash Waqf. We do not merely spend the donations (Sadaqah and Al-Afw) we receive; instead, we convert them into income-generating assets. The returns from these assets form a perpetual fund used to provide continuous Interest-Free Loans. This model, inspired by the historic "Well of Rumah" (Waqf-e-Usmani), ensures that your contribution becomes a Sadaqah Jariyah—a source of ongoing reward in this world and the Hereafter.

Vision in Action: From Mosques to Economic Revolution

Guided by the expertise of renowned economists like Dr. M. Fahim Khan, our vision is to revitalize the role of the mosque as a center for social and economic guidance. Our success stories in remote areas like Barri Bandi (Azad Kashmir)—where we established IT and sewing centers—prove that when vocational training is paired with Riba-free capital, poverty can be systematically eliminated at the grassroots level.

VISION

Turning surplus wealth into dignified livelihoods through interest-free support.

In the present era, the country’s economic system has become so complex that starting any kind of business without capital has become almost impossible. Even a small home-based business requires tools, buying and selling capacity, and capital for growth and expansion. Unfortunately, access to capital for the common person is becoming increasingly difficult—almost impossible—day by day. As a result, the economy has gradually become confined to a specific privileged class.

The fundamental objective of Jamil Khan Welfare Organization is to become an exemplary institution—one that, by being seen or even heard of, inspires men and women to realize that whatever portion of their wealth or income remains after fulfilling their legitimate needs should not go to waste. Instead, it should be used for deeds that improve the Hereafter and to ease the life of a poor and starving person. What better way can there be to prepare for the Hereafter than this?

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:219) emphasizes spending what is surplus to your needs in the way of Allah—prioritizing the deserving after one’s necessities have been met.

While acts such as performing Umrah and building mosques are highly virtuous, the essence of this guidance is to spend surplus wealth on those in need—an act that is a great virtue and highly beloved to Allah.

This act is not merely a personal form of worship; rather, Allah Almighty has described it as Qard-e-Hasanah (a goodly loan) and has promised to return it multiplied many times over (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:245).

The message of these verses is that after fulfilling one’s own needs, spending extra wealth on the poor—especially those living in extreme hardship—and helping them escape the trap of poverty by providing loans and enabling them to stand on their own feet may be even more beloved in the sight of Allah.

Providing a loan is better than giving charity. For anyone in the community who cannot improve their life solely due to a lack of capital, this organization will provide that capital in the form of an interest-free loan. Recovery will not be the primary objective; rather, improving the economic condition of the individual will be the true goal. If the borrower is unable to repay on time, the organization will wait patiently, and if repayment still becomes impossible, it will not insist and will forgive the amount as charity.

  • Interest-free capital for micro and home-based businesses to become self-reliant.
  • Surplus wealth turned into sustainable support for the most deserving.
  • Qard-e-Hasanah model with patience in recovery and forgiveness when repayment becomes impossible.
